Everyone Prays – But whose prayers deserves an answer?

The picture above might be hilarious but it is indeed a reflection of what happens in the course of one’s attempt to achieve something, most especially a pretty big feat.

As seen in the picture, a hungry cheetah chasing a deer who is scared to the bone. One thing that struck me about both animal was the fact that both animal weren’t just saying deep hearted prayers rather they were rigorously working at achieving their respective objectives.

As human, we keep chasing after one thing or the other in the course of our lives. These chase can be in the form of academic pursuit, business pursuit, pursuit of happiness, pursuit of money, pursuit of power, pursuit of prestige, pursuit of fame, pursuit of excellence and pursuit of knowledge e.t.c

While being in pursuit of whatever it is we want or desire, the possibility of either being in the shoe of the cheetah or the deer often plays out and somewhere in our heart we tend to make or echo that silent prayer, most especially when the objective we seek seems more like an herculean task.

I do not in any way object the art of prayer but leaving the super piece, which is WORK, out of the equation of one’s pursuit would make such prayer receive a slap of condemnation.

Taking an instance of job applicants being interviewed for a position, each applicant would most likely make a wish or say a prayer of being picked above every other regardless of the degree of work they have injected into the process of being chosen.

“The young lady who has paid her dues studying through college, engaged in several career building activities, prepared day and night reading through possible interview questions OR the young man who spent most of his college days flipping several frivolous activities, manages to get a grade fairly above pass, seldom prepares for forthcoming interview“

In all fairness, whose prayer really deserves an answer?

I am very much aware of the fact that several other factors comes into play in the pursuit of something and such factors usually negate the principle of putting in WORK before attaining one’s objective or goals yet I still believe the man or woman whose degree of WORK hits the peak compared to other deserves the prize.

It is a well-known fact that the world’s greatest feats and accomplishment were not achieved by those who prayed the most but by those who were highly committed to their cause and had put in the required degree of work in the most excellent manner.

One a final note, I will say “Work at it and keep the chase on with an excellent attitude before saying those prayers”……
