Interplanting and rain damage

Hi Hivers!

I thought I would share my interplanting I have been doing recently.
I like to make the absolute most of my growing spaces so interplant wherever possible. In this first photo you can see I have interplanted beetroot between my onions.

The almost constant rain has meant I have done little to no watering. The only thing I thought to do was some parsnip and carrot seeds newly sown.

These salad onions are ready for harvesting.

As well as planting beetroot between the garlic onions, I have planted extra carrots between the new salad onions.

These red lettuce are ready to harvest.

After heavy rains all my freesia flowers are knocked down flat..

They still smell lovely but look rather sad.

The parsley flowers are about to open. The scent of these is amazing and I can't wait for them to open.

The citrus needed spraying for powdery mould and aphids. I used my organic home made mix of bicarbonate of soda and a splash of liquid soap.

This fungus popped up overnight on my fresh seed beds and got some of the same spray.

There are loads of sage flowers, some slightly bedraggled by the rain but mostly fine that I have started to harvest. There are many wonderful uses for sage flowers, but I will save those for another post.

Thanks for stopping by for my garden update.
