Mushroom Monday in the Driftless
Yesterday's hike through the local forest yielded yet another #mushroommonday share for Hive. I was going to run with the scarlet elfcaps for today, but the pictures didn't quite turn out as well as I hoped. This fungi, however, was most photogenic.
Part of this set of mushrooms were umbrella shaped, but the others were more toad stool in shape.
This one reminded me of the dryad saddle that @sketch.and.jam had pointed out to me on a previous post. These aren't quite a large; the texture doesn't look quite the same either.
I was curious how they looked this morning, so I opted for a hike earlier today to check out the fungi again. There was a little blackness/decay to them already, so I'm assuming their lifespan is quite limited. They also appear to be shriveling in size.
The forest keeps on surprising me with new finds each week. With rain limited in the coming days, I'm curious what will pop up next. Thanks for taking a look at my #fungifind!
