Update on 3Speak App Development

Personal updates

• Last week, I was down with fever, cough & cold.
• Not just me, but also few family members were down.
• I've partially recovered and doing well now.
• Having full time job crisis.
• I've been let go from my current org & hunting for full time role

Recap

• iOS App which I showcased in my earlier videos, is written in Swift programming language.
• All progress which I shared was mainly for iOS app only.
• For building Android application, I had 2 options
  • Writing in Kotlin programming language
  • Use cross platform development like Flutter or React Native

Why did I choose Dart + Flutter?

• At the moment, I am the only person working on mobile-app-development.
• Working on different platform (Android / iOS / Windows / macOS) would require many skillset
• Development & maintenance is time consuming for all platform
• With Flutter + Dart, we can have one code base & support all platforms.
• I am not a big fan of java-scripts so, I didn't choose React.

What did I do?

• I started from scratch.
• I built everything from ground-up.
• I learn dart programming language & Flutter SDK
• With Flutter SDK based app development learning, I was able to achieve the the output which I have showcased in this video.
