Yes yes… I know! 😄 For the last couple of days, I’ve been talking about the same app — HiveFestLeaks — and guess what? Today again we are talking about it! Because when you’re building something awesome for the Hive community, updates deserve spotlight! 🌟

🎉 What is HiveFestLeaks?

HiveFestLeaks is a fun, community-driven application where HiveFest attendees can submit funny, silly, or memorable moments from HiveFest events.

Other Hive users can pay a small amount to unlock those memories, and the best part?

💰 The paid amount goes towards funding the next HiveFest event.
👉 By community. For community.

That’s the spirit of Hive! ❤️

⚙️ Major Technical Improvement – No More .ENV Dependency!

Previously, the configuration for unlocking HiveFest leaks (like payment amount and recipient account) was stored inside the .env file.

Which meant:

• Any change in unlock amount 💵
• Any change in recipient account 👤
• Any change in memo 📝

👉 Required a full application restart 😅

Not very dynamic, right?

🚀 What We Did Now

We have:

✅ Removed dependency on .env configuration
✅ Moved all configs to MongoDB
✅ Made the system fully dynamic
✅ Eliminated the need for application restart

Now when a user tries to unlock a HiveFest leak:

1. The app fetches configuration from MongoDB.
2. Unlock amount is dynamically decided.
3. Transaction memo is fetched from config.
4. Recipient account is also fetched dynamically.

💥 No restart required.
💥 Fully dynamic.
💥 Production ready.

🔐 Admin Control via Secure APIs

On top of that, we built admin-only APIs 🎯

Meaning:

• Only authorized admins can change config.
• Temporary test payments can be set (e.g., 0.1 HBD).
• Recipient can be changed for testing.
• Everything is access-driven and secure.

This was fully deployed and tested — not just by us but also by user Luis88 🙌

For example, when someone uploads a video on 3Speak, it may get processed by one of the encoder nodes we run. That’s real backend contribution to Hive ecosystem 🚀
