Japanese culture certified by the Guinness Book! 5000 carp(Koi-nobori) swim in a place with Sakura!

Hello steemians!
I am RYO!

I visited a place where wonderful Japanese tradition and beautiful Sakura were fused!

Do you know "Koi-nobori"?

Koi=carp
nobori=rise

It swims in the wind with a carp made of cloth!
Koi-nobori usually decorate 3~5 like this

alt

But I went to the super big event of Koi-nobori!
It is an amazing place with the world's top Guinness Book certified!

alt

Yes!! That's where the world's best Koi-nobori swim!!
The number is over 5000 including all!!

alt

Even more wonderful is the season when the Sakura are blooming now!
The collaboration of 5000 Koi-nobori and Sakura can be seen only in this place only in Japan!

alt

alt

When I visited this place, it was crowded with many people!
I was expecting a lot of congestion because I did not know that this place was a Guinness Book certified place😂

alt

It has various colors like this

This place is still at the side, when I walked there is saw the bridge

alt

This bridge had a good view and people were gathered

alt

The view I have walked side!
It is a wonderful view but…

alt

Wow!! The other side is a wider view!!!

alt

There is another bridge beyond this bridge, but Koi-nobori continues to that bridge!!

Comparison of my hands and Koi-nobori

alt

What do you think Koi-nobori is for?
Let me explain to you Koi-nobori while walking towards a bridge that looks like a distance

alt

The carp is one of the most beloved fish in Japan,
Since carp can live in harsh environments such as small swamps and cold winters, it has become a "symbol of vitality"

alt

Furthermore, because there was an old myth that carp that climbed a waterfall would be dragons, So also carp became a symbol of "the rise of work"

alt

And when Edo period(my manga -Jingi- era) boys were born in a Samurai family, they were setting the flag of the family's crest

alt

And common people began to imitate it and set a Koi-nobori,
And it became an event for boys

alt

I arrived at the distant bridge

alt

"I want the boy to grow up like a Samurai"
And
"I want you to be as healthy as carp"
The Koi-nobori was completed in the Edo period as an event with such wishes.

alt

I often talk about Japanese culture, but many of them started from the Edo period.

In other words, if you feel the charm of Japanese culture, it will also lead to the charm of the Edo period.

So The Edo period was really "the time when Japan was completed"

alt

It is also thanks to the Edo period that we can see such a wonderful view

alt

This wonderful event takes place from April to May

The Koi-nobori is an event for the day because May 5 is "Children's Day",
However, if you want to see Koi-nobori and Sakura, it is best to visit around early April!

alt

And Koi-nobori are events for boys, but there are also big events for girls in Japan!
So that is "Hina-festival"!

alt

These are my last month's post!
This is Japan's most largest Hina-festival event!

alt

The Koi-nobori is an event 200 to 300 years ago, but the Hina-festival is an event that has continued for 1000 years!

Little topic

Japan in the Edo Period was completely different from Japan today,
The Japanese have forgotten courtesy and discipline because the quality of their parents' education is now deteriorating

During the Edo period, children's education was really great, and in particular, the Samurai family received severe education

I wanted to draw about that true Japanese spirit, so I often draw about it in manga

alt

One of the most important courtesy is greetings, and remembering courtesy among family members

alt

But, I cherish balance because it will make the manga boring if I draw too much…
I also do not forget that manga is "entertainment"

Anyway, Today's Japanese forget about their identity…
The Koi-nobori and Hina-festival also follow the "form" but few people know what it means…

And I'm still not familiar with Japanese history and culture,
Because I was not interested in Japanese culture(Most of today's Japanese are similar)

In Japan, politicians give top priority to the economy and their interests, so they do not teach at schools about the "People help each other in peace" of the Edo period.

A few years ago I learned about the culture and spirit of the wonderful Edo period…
But I still have to study about it, so I would like to learn with the reader while drawing manga.

Of course I also want to make it a fun manga for entertainment!😄

alt

Thank you for reading!
Arigatou gozaimashita!
