Siamese Fighter Fish Spawning!!

This is the second time that I am breeding with my Siamese Fighters. The first time, I did it in an unconventional way, by doing it in my Cherry Shrimp Tank, which is also a planted tank. Due to this, I could not monitor the very small fry, to see if they are eating and if they were doing well.

I did post a few posts on this before, and I did get some fry growing up quite nicely!!

This time, I basically did it in a clean tank, I just have a removable container with plants in it, to provide some hiding place for the female!!

The video was taken over 2 days, I started on Wednesday around midday, when I released the female into the company of the male.

In the beginning the male was fighting with the female!! This continued for the entire afternoon.

On Thursday morning things calmed down and the lovemaking could begin. I ended the filming at about 15:00 on Thursday and they were still busy spawning!!

Although the video is rather long, it is very interesting to see the process!! (I cut out two thirds of the footage I took)
