A sperm whale

That's right there is so much semen floating around in them whale circles it's hard to goto the trending page and not get slapped in the face with their unwanted spunk.

if you pay for promotion.

Speaking of paid for upvotes... how about those witnesses that say they are against spam... but own multiple bots that spam everyone they upvote with irrelevant adds about you received a % upvote?

You tell us "in the real world you have to pay for advertising" ... while you take our money and plaster your unwanted advertising all over our walls.

Speaking of spam...

did you know we have a pack of whales that swims around and downvotes others they think are spamming the network .... (of course this is all subjective)
Then they leave a spam message on the down-voted spam saying this is spam.

That's just what I want to read... spam telling me that the article I just read was spam

Do you think this beta experiment will ever leave the beta stage?

After looking around this block-chain and watching the evolution of dmania and D.tube...
The memification and addition of videos via dtube has lead this block-chain away from the original goal of quality blog posts.
I would say that Steemit has lost it's original vision as being a Reddit type competitor.
I feel this block-chain has the potential to become THE social-networking block-chain as the addition of dmania and dtube have widened the block-chains customer base. The addition of Smart Media Tokens only adds to the feasibilty of onboarding more people as there will be alternate currencies that can be used on this block-chain like Ethereum's token.

Right now is a crucial time for the Steem Block-Chain to really identify what should happen moving forward, we have onboarded over 250,00 people since January. That number is half of the amount of accounts that existed at the end of 2017. We will have 1 million accounts by June if we follow the growth we have had thusfar this year.

After examining what kinds of posts people share here on this block-chain I have decided this is more like a Facebook 2.0 than a Reddit 2.0.
