Con amor y fe, celebramos el Bautizo de mi hijo Eidan Mathias.

Hola querida comunidad de hive. Hoy les quiero hablar de la bonita experiencia que tuvimos en familia en el bautizo de mi hijo mayor. En vista de que fuimos a visitar a nuestra familia en Margarita quisimos aprovechar para hacer esta bonita ceremonia religiosa junto a ellos, un paso importante que simboliza la entrada a la comunidad, fe y purificación.

Hello dear hive community. Today I want to tell you about the beautiful experience we had as a family at the baptism of my eldest son. Since we went to visit our family in Margarita we wanted to take the opportunity to make this beautiful religious ceremony with them, an important step that symbolizes the entry into the community, faith and purification.

Para el bautizo estuvimos preparando todo lo que sería el compartir para ese día antes de ir a Margarita, ya que tendríamos poco tiempo para hacer todos los preparativos, lo bueno es que una de las madrinas quiso hacer un pequeño compartir, y ella se encargó de muchas de las cosas para ese día, como tarjetas de recuerdo con un bonito escrito, unos pasapalos para compartir, una bonita mesa decorada con una rica torta y todo muy combinado en colores beige con blanco, colores con los que ella también sugirió qué vistieramos para ese día puesto que el blanco representa la pureza e inocencia.

For the baptism we were preparing everything that would be shared for that day before going to Margarita, since we would have little time to make all the preparations, the good thing is that one of the godmothers wanted to make a small sharing, and she was in charge of many of the things for that day, like souvenir cards with a nice writing, some snacks to share, a nice table decorated with a rich cake and all very combined in beige and white colors, colors that she also suggested what we should wear for that day since white represents purity and innocence.

El bautizo, en un contexto de religión católica, los padrinos son importantes por que representa a la familia, sería en este caso quienes guíen a mi hijo en el camino de la fe y ayudarnos a edularlo de ser necesario. Nosotros escogimos dos madrinas y dos padrinos que forman parte de nuestra familia como tal.

The baptism, in a context of catholic religion, the godparents are important because they represent the family, in this case they would be the ones to guide my son in the path of faith and help us to educate him if necessary. We chose two godmothers and two godfathers who are part of our family as such.

Debo decirles que fue una experiencia desconocida para mi, ciertamente de pequeña he visto y conocido de varias religiones pero no me he quedado en ninguna, sin embargo mi fe, amor y respeto por mi Dios es finito y en mi familia hay diversidad en cuanto a las religiones y creencias y es un tema que respeto muchísimo.

I must tell you that it was an unknown experience for me, certainly as a child I have seen and known several religions but I have not stayed in any, however my faith, love and respect for my God is finite and in my family there is diversity in terms of religions and beliefs and it is a subject that I respect very much.

Mi hijo de 5 años fue bautizado por la iglesia católica, y al ser un niño puedo decirles que el solo sabe que nuestro Dios es amor, grande y misericordioso y que debemos respetarle y obedecer, él todavía no distingue entre religiones, solo conoce de su maravillosa existencia y sus grandes creaciones.

My 5 year old son was baptized by the catholic church, and being a child I can tell you that he only knows that our God is love, great and merciful and that we must respect and obey him, he still does not distinguish between religions, he only knows of his wonderful existence and his great creations.

Quisimos bautizarlo porque los padrinos todos son católicos y son personas que han estado en todo momento en el crecimiento de nuestro hijo, desde los primeros días, con mucho apoyo emocional y amor incondicional.

We wanted to baptize him because the godparents are all Catholics and are people who have been with our son's growth at all times, from the first days, with a lot of emotional support and unconditional love.

También en la familia de mi esposo todos son católicos y sería algo por lo cual su bisabuela estaría muy feliz, y así fue, ella es una señora de 85 años que Luis, mi esposo, respeta mucho, y a él le hizo muy feliz verla complacida sabiendo que su bisnieto cumplió con su primer sacramento de la iglesia Católica.

Also in my husband's family everyone is Catholic and it would be something that his great grandmother would be very happy about, and so it was, she is an 85 year old lady that Luis, my husband, respects very much, and it made him very happy to see her pleased knowing that his great grandson fulfilled his first sacrament of the Catholic church.

El bautizo lo realizamos en una bella iglesia ubicada en El tirano, en nuestro pueblo natal llamada la iglesia de la Virgen del Carmen, mayormente hacen varios bautizos un mismo día pero a nosotros nos toco un día de semana, por lo tanto fue mi niño el único bautizado ese día, gracias a esto el momento fue muy agradable y calmado. Hubo un momento para cada miembro de esta ceremonia, la bendición a los padres y la bendición a los padrinos. Luego oficialmente sería el bautizo qué sería derramar agua en su cabeza que simboliza la muerte y resurrección en Cristo. También pudimos conocer otros elementos simbólicos como lo fueron las velas y el aceite (el crisma).

The baptism took place in a beautiful church located in El Tirano, in our hometown called the church of the Virgen del Carmen, usually they do several baptisms on the same day but we were baptized on a weekday, so my child was the only one baptized that day, thanks to this the moment was very nice and calm. There was a moment for each member of this ceremony, the blessing to the parents and the blessing to the godparents. Then officially it would be the baptism which would be pouring water on his head symbolizing the death and resurrection in Christ. We were also able to learn about other symbolic elements such as candles and oil (chrism).

La vela representa la luz de Cristo y sus padrinos que fueron uno el abuelo paterno y otro su tío por mi parte, la encendieron para mi hijo que tambien simboliza el encuentro con Dios.

The candle represents the light of Christ and his godparents, who were his paternal grandfather and his uncle on my side, lit it for my son, which also symbolizes the encounter with God.

El Crisma o aceite sagrado, simboliza la unción del Espíritu Santo y la fuerza divina. Este tenía un aroma a canela y fue colocado por el padre en la cabeza y pecho de mi niño.

The Chrism, or sacred oil, symbolizes the anointing of the Holy Spirit and divine strength. It had a cinnamon scent and was placed by the father on my child's head and chest.

Luego de terminar con el bautizo fuimos a casa en donde compartimos un pequeño momento junto a la familia que tenían mucho tiempo esperando para consolidar este compromiso, Eidan, mi hijo quien fue bautizado estaba muy feliz, pues era un día especialmente para el. Sus madrinas lo hicieron sentir especial le dieron mucho amor y le hicieron saber que aunque no vivimos ya en Margarita pueden contar con ellas en todo momento, su amor siempre estará presente para él aun en la distancia.

After finishing with the baptism we went home where we shared a little moment with the family who had been waiting a long time to consolidate this commitment, Eidan, my son who was baptized was very happy, because it was a day especially for him. His godmothers made him feel special, they gave him a lot of love and let him know that even though we no longer live in Margarita he can count on them at all times, their love will always be present for him even in the distance.
