I Am Not Going to These Locations

I have traveled to different countries around the world and enjoyed my stay. There are always both good and bad experiences in some places, but that doesn't mean a location is not worth visiting. Various factors can contribute to negative experiences, such as political instability, safety concerns, cultural differences, or personal encounters. Each country has its own beauty, and, most importantly, its culture and traditions define the uniqueness of the land. It's enriching to explore different cultures and traditions while respecting each other's beliefs and values.

A couple of months ago, I came across a clip on Facebook showcasing the most dangerous and terrifying places on Earth. Many of these places are already banned or restricted for tourists due to the level of danger they pose. I was shocked to discover the existence of islands where normal life doesn't prevail; tribes living in isolation. While we've seen such tribes depicted in movies, learning about the Sentinel Islands gave me a big chill. These islands are under the administration of India, declared as a restricted, no-go area—a positive step to preserve the tribe's isolation. The challenge lies not in our inability to communicate or settle on the island but in their refusal to welcome outsiders. For a long time, these tribes have made up their minds and are unwilling to accept any incoming visitors. The last person who illegally approached them and tried to communicate with the tribe is no longer alive, found completely gone on the shores of the island. Similar incidents, caught on camera, circulate on YouTube. While this place is a definite 'no' from my side, it's intriguing to note that even if I wanted to go, I cannot.

There are other places like this one, such as the Island of the Dolls in Mexico, the Door to Hell in Turkmenistan, Snake Island in Brazil, and many more, as seen in the documentary. One positive aspect is that individuals like me, who are scared but seek adventure, can visit these places. People have explored these places, taken pictures, shared stories, and returned alive. So, despite the terror associated with these locations, there is no insurmountable hurdle in visiting them.

Honestly speaking, there's only one place I don't want to go, and that's the Bermuda Triangle. The reason behind my aversion is the hype and horror stories from my childhood that made me believe no one survives the Bermuda Triangle. It's a specific location that supposedly engulfs all ships and planes that cross over it. Despite numerous arguments against this theory and valid points about its authenticity, I still think there's something unusual or disturbing in nature about this location. I don't feel it's right for people to cross over it, and I never want to be on a plane or ship near it. While many people deny this theory, and scientific reasoning challenges its mystique, I still hold onto my childhood perception that the Bermuda Triangle is a place to avoid at all costs.
