Brown skipper butterfly

The butterfly didn't stay with me for long, so I only managed these few shots. But I thought they were good enough to write this post about.

Yo don't know much about butterflies, so after using Google and searching for a lot of information, I found out what type of butterfly it was. And since I'm quite restless, I couldn't just stick with its name, so I continued searching for information about its species, and here are some interesting facts:

● Mud drinkers: It's common to see skippers drinking moisture from mud puddles or stream banks. This behavior, known as "puddling," allows them to obtain water and important minerals.

●Ecological importance: Although they can sometimes be considered pests in pasture fields, adult skippers are pollinators, contributing to the reproduction of various plants.

●Construction Larvae: The caterpillars of many skippers are ingenious builders. They roll up blades of grass or join several blades together with silk to create shelters where they can hide and feed.

●Surprising diversity: Despite their often unassuming appearance in shades of brown, gray, or orange, the skipper family is highly diverse, with more than 3,500 species worldwide, and is most abundant in Neotropical regions.
