Hello everyone, howâs your weekend going? Things are quiet over here â just pottering about at home, finishing off a few projects and getting a head start on others, and one of the projects I finished yesterday was for Mirandaâs bedroom â itâs a holder for her headphones thatâll go on her bedside table. Just like the toothbrush holder, I decided to make it featuring Leebit, the Skyzoo character from Lee Know, a member of the K-pop group Stray Kids.
These stands seem to be all the rage, and theyâre one of those things you didnât know you needed until you saw them â although, to be honest, itâs not exactly essential, but it is absolutely gorgeous, so I just had to make one đ€Ł
âWhere did I see them?â On Pinterest, of course, and I came across both the shop-bought version and various DIY tutorials to make them at home, which served as a guide for creating Mirandaâs â which, to be honest, turned out really lovely and very, very neat, something you know is very important to me. Best of all, itâs a low-cost project, as the investment is minimal. So keep reading so you can make your own at home.

Paso a paso/ Step by step
This hearing aid holder consists of a circular base, a cylinder in the centre of the base and two decorative pieces positioned at the front and back of the cylinder. In my case, I decided to recreate a really cute Leebit design for Miranda, and to get started on this project I began with the part that would take me the longest â not so much because of the actual crafting of the piece, but because of the drying time, as Iâd decided to make it out of plaster using a plastic dessert tub with small grooves down the sides, which would give me a base with a nice finish â exactly what I was looking for.
To make this base, the first thing I had to bear in mind was that it needed a hole in the centre to fit the cardboard cylinder into, so I found a lid the same thickness as the tube, placed it in the centre of the plastic container, and prepared the plaster mixture with acrylic additive and water â it should have a thick consistency â and finally poured it into the mould, which Iâd previously greased with oil, and left it to dry for approximately three days.
Once the cylinder is ready, the next step is to make Leebitâs face, which will be on the front and back of the cylinder. To do this, just as I did with the base for Leebitâs toothbrush, I used a template to trace the outline of the bunny, first onto card and then onto white foam, and what I did was cut out four pieces â two for each piece of card â and stick them to the front and back.
Now that this step is complete, the next thing to do is to make the eyes, nose and mouth, as well as the two pink pieces needed for the little ears; these pieces were also made from foam; the details such as the mouth, nose and eyes are black, and the details on the little ears are pink.
Once I had secured all the facial details with cold silicone, the next step was to cut a strip of black foam measuring approximately 1.5 centimetres and cover the entire edge of the two pieces of our Leebit. An important point here is that we are going to make the foam strip extend beyond the outline of both pieces.
At this stage, all the components of our stand are ready, but as I mentioned, I had to wait about three days for the piece to dry completely; once it had, I filled in the imperfections with a light mixture of plaster and finally sanded it down to make the surface as smooth as possible so I could paint it.
In my case, I applied two coats of white acrylic paint.
Whilst the base was drying, I took the opportunity to work on the rest of the supporting components; in this case, I carried on working on the cylinder. To be honest, I canât remember what this cardboard cylinder I used was originally for, but it was perfect because it was quite sturdy, so what I did was measure the height I needed, cut it to size using a craft knife and finally cover it with white foam sheet. To stick it down, I decided to use liquid silicone, as it wouldnât leave any marks on the foam.
Once the base was dry, it was time to assemble our Leebit headphone stand. First, we applied a little cold silicone along the edge of the cylinder and ran it around the rim of the base. Once it was secured, we stuck the Leebit face pieces in place â one at the front and one at the back of the cylinder.
Next, I cut a 0.5 cm strip of white foam to stick right on the edge where the cylinder and the base join, and at this point the project was "almost finished" â and I say almost finished because, in the end, when I placed it on the bedside table, I realised that white on white didnât stand out, so I decided to paint part of the base a light pink, and thatâs how our Leebit-themed headphone stand was finished â it turned out really lovely.
As you can see, the result is quite neat; it has a lovely finish and, although it isnât strictly necessary for a bedroom, the truth is that it looks lovely and helps to keep the room tidy.
