Belfast Mural

I got stranded in Belfast last night. I took a ferry over from England, got to the bus station at 8pm and there were no more buses to my remote location due to the impending "12th". The 12th is to celebrate some event. Protestants march around wearing oranges to represent some King called Billy or something. (Although unable to reach my location I managed to contact a friend and spent the night at their base.)

The above mural is a pro-UVF (Ulster Volunteer Force) mural. Showing the protestant side of the fight or something (I don't really know). There are also catholic murals which show people on hunger strikes and all sorts. My favourite murals though are the ones where people are holding AKs and wearing balaclavas like the above mural. They look much more cool than murals of people wasting away in prison on hunger strikes.

Hopefully these types of murals will spread across the globe for my viewing pleasure, except maybe they will say Counter-Strike or the name of some other popular first person shooter which has AKs and people wearing balaclavas.

I once got asked to remove my balaclava in Northern Ireland. It was halloween and I was dressed as a ninja, but balaclavas are not allowed. I only see them on murals these days.
