Macro again!!!

Hello, PeakD community.

Today I’m sharing a small macro series captured with my Canon 5D Mark III and a lens that is as beautiful as it is demanding: the Steinheil München Macro Quinaron 35mm f/2.8. Mastering this piece of glass is a real challenge. It forces you to slow down, steady your breathing, and be precise with every millimeter. Any slight movement shifts the entire focus plane. But when everything aligns… the results carry a kind of magic you simply don’t get from modern optics.

These images were born from that challenge. Each shot became a careful balance of light, distance, and timing. The Quinaron renders a soft, painterly bokeh and transitions that wrap the subject in an almost dreamlike atmosphere. It’s not a fast lens, and definitely not a forgiving one, but it rewards patience with a character that feels alive.

In this series you’ll find delicate textures, colors melting into each other, and moments that appear only when you take the time to truly observe. Nature often asks that from us: slow down, pay attention, and let the photograph come to you.
