Choosing Yourself Even When it Hurts!

A Family friend of ours, a Lady actually, was caught in between in the dilemma of Either letting her Family go or to remain stuck with them and their way of seeing reality which she actually sees different. What did she do?

She was a very Beautiful lady and was of age to have gotten married but she isn't married yet, Her parents kept on denying her of any marriage mate that comes her way and she keeps on enduring and listening to the ideas and way of thinking of the parents. But after a while, she became tired of all the parents where doing, she thought about her won Personal Growth and what her parents where depriving her from and also the consequences that followed the parents way of seeing things.

She Spoke up and told the Parents that she loves a particular person that came that time, and that she wants to be married in a place that she would be loved and cared for and that, that man would give it to her. Her parents tried to change her mind, the Man wasn't rich and didn't have a steady job of his own, but they being the Lady's Family were wealthy. So, the parents tried to protect their Reputation through the Husband of their Daughter but the daughter didn't fancy the way they were reasoning.

This Lady, told the Parents that, it is either she leaves them and goes off and marry the man she loves without the parents consent or she becomes a Reverend Sister. Well, the Parents were forced to let her go marry the man of her choice and then she did just that.

Sometimes, the people all around us, do try to use us to get the best out of their own personal desires and heart wishes. They would want to make us do something that would foster their own growth, they would be Selfish and wouldn't mind if you fall. If I should notice an atom of such a thing in my life or around the people that I associate with, I would first of all get a solid reason or Proof that shows that, Yes, this person is drawing me back from the way he or she sees things, then i would confront the person and try as much as possible to make the person to get my own way of seeing things and to stop drawing me back, just like the Friend of ours at the outset did.

But if they should insist on their own way of thinking, I would be left with no other Option than to Let them go and Leave them Behind, bearing in mind that my Growth as a Person is in line and that any little mistake can ruin it all. Each Person has his own decisions to make. You know yourself and you know what your Growth in Life is dependent on, so the Ball is in your court, you have to choose what is best for you and what would make you Life happy and Enjoyable.
