A Weekend worth calling Successful

Last weekend was a weekend which was so much emphasized on. Unlike every other weekend, this particular weekend was so special to I, my Family and thousands too. For a year now, this particular weekend has been ringing bells on the minds of all those who are involved in it. But then, What really was that weekend all about?

Jehovah’s Witnesses all around the globe do attend a large gathering once in a year, that event is called Regional Convention of Jehovah’s Witnesses. This year, the regional convention started in the month of May and it is to end in August. They are been divided in a special way in order to avoid crowding in the facility, then each week, each division attends their own convention. This helps in order to avoid overcrowding in the facilities used for the convention.

The theme of this year’s convention is Pure Worship and it was really a nice convention as many things were talked about in the convention. Jehovah’s Witnesses have a lot of facilities at each location which are called Assembly halls where they do gather to enjoy this particular event. I really longed to attend one and I did so last weekend. I attended at the Assembly Hall at Mgboko Umuoria, Aba, Abia State, Nigeria, Africa. I really enjoyed the convention. The brothers and sisters were really kind towards all, there were no collections of any kind neither were their offerings made. The brothers and sisters all dressed well throughout the three days of the convention – Friday, Saturday and Sunday.

Televisions as visual aids were there and they were used in intervals in order to better explain the point been made out. There were no securities around, neither were there any policemen or Army around but the over 2000 persons there felt save as they trusted in Jehovah God. A bible feature drama was featured in some part of the program and we were pleased to watch the Episode 2 – part 1 and 2 – and Episode 3 of the drama entitled The Goodnews according to Jesus. It was such a nice video which included some of the things Jesus did while he was on earth and then we also saw how we can be able to imitate those qualities that Jesus displayed while he was on earth. In the program, intermission was also marked out, and during that time, we ate and interacted with our brothers and friends, food is not an issue as many friends share their foods with everyone. The love is very massive and I can’t wait for the next convention to take place next year

The Convention was really nice and I would love it if you can also make out time to attend, you can ask around in your locality and you would be told about the location of any Assembly hall of Jehovah’s witnesses in your area. Remember, attending an event of Jehovah’s witnesses do not make you a member of Jehovah’s witnesses.
