Wakanda Disney Plus TV Show is Coming

Yes, on top of the at least 12 Marvel Disney+ shows that were announced at the Disney investor presentation, at least one more is coming our way. A Wakanda show from Ryan Coogler. The show is part of a five year first look deal that Coogler signed with Disney and that will make Marvel fans really happy. All of the headlines said that there is one show in development with no further details about it, but I think more than one show is coming to Disney+.

In his statement Coogler did talk about the house of mouse in general, but then he mentioned Marvel specifically: "We are especially excited that we will be taking our first leap with Kevin Feige, Louis D’Esposito, Victoria Alonso and their partners at Marvel Studios where we will be working closely with them on select MCU shows for Disney+. We’re already in the mix on some projects that we can't wait to share." He uses "shows" in plural in the context of the MCU, so I think more than one show is coming up fast.

The obvious choices for a tv show are the Dora Milaje, the bodyguards of the king and M'Baku TV show starring Winston Duke. I am not sure that we are ready for a Shuri TV show yet, we need to see how the MCU will deal with the tragic passing of Chadwick Boseman first in Black Panther 2. Maybe after Black Panther 2 we will be ready. Or maybe we will get a show that is set in the past of Wakanda. Actually, the possibilities are endless and exciting.

I can't wait to see what will come out of this corner of the MCU.
