The Marvel Slingshot Effect

Avengers 4 new poster.jpg

Marvel always does best when there are two Marvel movies at the theater. When Avengers: Infinity War came out Black Panther was still at the cinema and it gained more audience as people who couldn't get tickets to see Avengers: Infinity War or people who just wanted more Marvel checked out Black Panther as well.

This year we had the same effect with Avengers: Endgame and Captain Marvel. When Avengers: Endgame came out it only increased the box office for Captain Marvel. Because Marvel movies help each other out at the box office.

Now we will probably see this phenomena again. Avengers: Endgame is being rereleased this weekend. It already passed the box office of the original run of Avatar, which was also released, but now it wants that big sexy official title of highest grossing movie of all time. And Spider-Man: Far from Home will also help it get there. Avengers: Endgame will only help build even more hype for Spider-Man: Far from Home as they are supposedly closely related. Spider-Man: Far from Home which comes out next week will also send more viewer to see Avengers: Endgame. It's a win-win situation for both movies. A rare thing to see in Hollywood, but Marvel's slingshot effect has proven itself as the box office more than once. But, it is always interesting to see it again.

So let assemble for the original six one last time and then go and enjoy the new Spider-Man movie.
