St. Bernard's Mineral Well

Spacerując wzdłuż rzeki popularnym szlakiem znanym jako ''Water of Leith'', napotkałem kolejne magiczne miejsce. A mianowicie w dzielnicy Stockbridge znajduje się studnia Św. Bernarda. Została ona wybudowana w 1785r.

Walking along the river along the popular trail known as '' Water of Leith '', I encountered another magical place. Namely, in the Stockbridge district there is a well of St. Bernard. It was built in 1785.

Od około 1760r. miejsce to było uważane za ujście wody zdrowotnej. Dla tego też zauważamy tu postać greckiej bogini Higieji w mitologii symbolizuje ciągłą samoodnowę życia, ozdrowienie, długowieczność, uzdrawianie, odrodzenie.

From around 1760 this place was considered to be a health water outlet. For this we also see the figure of the Greek goddess Higieja in mythology, symbolizing the constant self-renewal of life, recovery, longevity, healing, rebirth.

Pod posągiem znajduje się pompownia wody z której pobierano wodę. Podobno pieknie ozdobione pomieszczenie zostało zamknięte dla ludności w okolicach 1940r.

Miejsce jest bardzo urokliwe a nie opodal znajduje się bardzo ciekawy most który również chciałbym wam pokazać

Under the statue there is a water pumping station from which water was taken. Apparently, the beautifully decorated room was closed to the public around 1940.
