Installing A New Crossfader In My Vestax DJ Mixer W/ Step By Step Instructions And Practice Scratch

Today we are going to install my new INNOFADER crossfader on my VESTAX PMC 05 MKIII mixer.

The Innofader is a buttery-smooth and lightweight contactless fader that can be adjusted for very quick cut in distance to help ones scratches sound super fresh!

I'll do a step by step on the install!

Here are all the nifty accessories: the different attachments and some nifty stickers and hardware.

Here is my trusty Vestax, just waiting to be taken apart:

First, you must remove the fader caps so you can take off the faceplate.

Here is a view with the faceplate off:

Next, we must remove the OUTER screws for the crossfader so we can pull it out.

Gently wiggle out the connection plug and voila!

Now let's grab the new crossfader

At this point, we want to make sure the red jumper poles are in the TESTING position (to test the polarity, as the cable can fit both ways)

Let's plug it in and hope we got it right!

The red light means the polarity is backwards, i did NOT get it correct.

Let's switch it the other way!

Green is good!

Now let's switch the jumper off of the test function.

Position in the fader plate and screw it in.

Put the faceplate back on!

Put the caps back on and the screws back in and we are ready to rock!

Now I get to take it for a test drive!

I scratch left handed so I'm kind of scratching awkward style, but my other turntable is in a case from bringing it out to dj so I am just playing a loop on one of my newish CDJ turntables... which i scored for super cheap!
