My First Month in Hive

While browsing, I came across this quote and it has stayed with me ever since.

"Never be afraid to try something new because life gets boring when you stay within the limits of what you already know." ~ Anonymous

I was always apprehensive about new experiences.

In fact, I always get the same flavor of fruit shake and I don't pay attention to the "what's new" section of the menu.

Not until I joined Hive - it reveals a side of myself that I was previously unaware of, like meeting new people, making good friends and appreciating blogs from people you've never met personally and from all over the world. My normal routine has changed, and I'm loving it.

It began with a food tasting, followed by coffee dates, orientation/seminar, and learning more about Hive.

November 29, 2021, marked my first month in the Hive.

My first month! Hmmm. Where should I start?

Hive was first introduced to me by my good friend and colleague, explorewithsasha@explorewithsasha. I finally decided to join and post my introduction.

Less than a week after I joined, they invited me to try "food tasting". I decided to join only to observe what they do. I never even intended to blog about it since it was only my first time.

Then I met the hivecebubloggers@hivecebubloggers members. We were early. With me are itsmiessyonpeakd@itsmiessyonpeakd, asasiklause@asasiklause, and explorewithsasha@explorewithsasha. We decided to get coffee and had a little chitchat and introduction. It was so great because it was never awkward. We talked as if we were already friends for a long time. They told me details about Hive, some terms that are still new to me. Like rewards, Hive values, etc.

Then, shortly after 5 p.m., we went to Sugbo Mercado in I.T Park. It is a place where you can dine and choose a different variety of food. The food tasting was for Chef Kristel of L. A Taco Truck and Let’s roll! Sushi Bake. www.chefkristel.com

There I first met purepinay@purepinay. She looks like a professional individual who knows what she’s doing. She welcomed us with a smile. She was so sweet in greeting me and, since it was a little late, she immediately briefed us on what to expect with food tasting and told us to judge the food honestly. At first, I was overwhelmed since I did not intend to blog about it. She never let me feel that I was new and that I could not join yet. She gave me her journal and let me write everything about the chef and the food, so I have something to start with on my blog. That’s when I thought, this platform is not only about me writing anything I want. It's about engaging with people, helping small businesses be known, and giving out honest reviews and experiences to reach out to other people.

After the success of our food tasting, we met up again at purepinay@purepinay’s place to talk more about Hive. sassycebuana@sassycebuana and explorewithsasha@explorewithsasha lead our new onboarding orientation. That taught me so much. I've become more acquainted with the platform. Most notably, the importance of engagement (through comments, upvotes, and simply being active).

I have been enjoying and loving Hive since then. I have also met hivecebubloggers@hivecebubloggers. You have been like family to me. They have been amazing to me.
Thank you so much for reading.

I appreciate all the upvotes and comments I have received. I’ll never get tired of reading and responding to all of them.😍
