Open Mic Week 120 My Happiness

Hi fellow hive musicians,

Below is my very first entry for the hive open mic. I've listened to many of you performing some wonderful songs on here over the last few months.

For the theme 'My Happiness" I chose Stevie Wonder's 'Overjoyed' as it is about the happiness you feel when you meet someone and fall in love. I think the chord sequences and melody are just immeasurably beautiful and listening to his version make me feel happy inside.

The song is unusual in its inventive and jazzlike chord sequences but also because the original by Stevie Wonder, features a dripping tap sound as a metronome and rainforest type birdsong throughout.

I hope I have done it justice. Please ignore the few wrong notes here and there in the piano part. Since I had meningitis I struggle to keep up with so many key changes. Thank you so much for listening.
