Plastic for astronauts from human urine!
This might sound bizarre, but it's true, scientists
have now found a way to turn human urine into
plastic with the help of biologically engineered
yeast.
'Yarrowia lipolytica' uses Nitrogen, along
with Carbon from an astronaut's breathing
process to create plastic, that can be used
to create valuable tools with the help of 3D
printing.
However, the yeast is currently in its
development stages.
