8 of 81, Poems from the Tao, Spoken Word by Pryde Foltz

Water nurtures the root of life
It does so without thought, naturally
It runs to the low, dark, and quiet
Knowing life will lift it back up
Through soil, roots, body, and leaves
Eventually to sky
Whence it will fall again
Seek out the low and quiet
Seek out simplicity
Do not govern but guide
Allow your generosity to lift you
There is no need to compete
There is a natural way and order to all things
