10 of 81, Poems from the Tao, Spoken Word by Pryde Foltz

The mind is a wanderer
Widening and bending the Tao with thought
You need not go where thought leads
Keep firmly to the center of the path
Keep your limbs supple
Your mind open
Lead by your stride
Others will follow and pace
You fall behind when you push
You lose your way when you pull
The internal foe offers poor compass
Flies oft into the face of the wind
Observe; wait for the air to settle
The way will clear
You can tread upon the way
But you cannot own it
You can create it; you can tend it
But you cannot know the path ahead
You cannot control it
You master the way
By mastering yourself
By mastering the internal foe
