New Renault Captur Review

The new 2nd Gen Captur - the compact SUV from Renault has been revamped, upgraded and modernised for 2021.

With a new engine, it's now the E-Tech Hybrid (the same powertrain that the Alpine team helped develop for the new Clio) and is a 1.6Litre petrol engine now combined with a 1.2 kWh battery and two electric motors. It's coupled to an automatic gearbox. It also starts in full electric mode too.

The Ultimate
The S Edition
The R.S. Line

We had the R.S. Line E-Tech Hybrid 145 Auto in desert orange, with a black roof.

At first look, the new design language for the exterior is on point, and boasts a chunky front bumper, sloping bonnet and stylish grill that gives it a sporty look.

Once you get in, though, you can really see how much has changed in the Captur. It's layout is now a Smart Cockpit, angled towards the driver which gives you a feeling of connectivity with the car.

Although it is far more modern, with a higher spec, it is very nice to see that they have retained rotary dials for the climate control.

Combine this with the new, high quality materials and new design for the interior, and you've got a very nice small SUV.

It's nice to see that the design has been continued in the rear too, and with it's moveable back seat bench, you have greater flexibility and control over leg room in the rear, as well as space in the boot.

The new infotainment screen starts a 7 inch in the Iconic, with the S Edition and R.S. Line upgraded to a 9.3 inch portrait style, and is fitted with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto.

Prices for the range start at just over £20,000.00 - the model we have costs £28,200.00 with the £700 metallic paint option.
