The Night Well Spent
At night, she felt as if she hadn't eaten all day and thought of what she would prepare for dinner.
She realized that her cooking gas had finished and wondered if she will meet the gas vendor at his shop being that it was already late in the night.
She grabbed her gas cylinder and shaked it, it felt like nothing was inside, she took a sack bag and shoved her little gas cylinder in.
She took her payment card together with her gas cylinder and locked her door behind her. She walked a little distance and arrived at the gas shop.
The gas vendor was about locking his shop and she pleaded with him that she wanted to buy cooking gas that she needed it immediately as she wanted to cook.
The gas vendor smiled and told her he will sell for her. He pulled out his machines, took the cylinder from her and began to fill it.
After he was done, he handed over the cylinder to her and she paid him using her debit card.
He smiled at her and she thanked him and left the gas shop. On her way home she spotted a kiosk where local foodstuffs where being sold, she stopped by to know the prices of things if they were affordable.
She greeted the seller and then she saw okro, pepper, crayfish, vegetable leaf, dried fish and periwinkle, she asked for their prices and bought them.
She came back home that night with her filled gas and raw foodstuffs. She cooked not minding if the night was very silent.
She chopped her okro and Vegetable leaf.
Washed her periwinkle and smoked fish
blended her pepper and crayfish.
She added everything to the pot and cooked.
She finished cooking and ate the food, not caring if it was too late, all she knew was that she was very hungry and needed to satisfy her hunger for food.
She ate her soup with fufu and she really enjoyed her meal, especially with the fact that her soup was slimy, and filled with vegetables.
