A Peaceful Dawn.

After losing experience points to aggressive volatiles due to a misplaced position change, I endured a relentless night chase until dawn forced the volatiles away. I then tracked bloody handprints into the church tunnel, navigated a vent past hibernating infected, and escaped through a tight passage.

So I started messing up with the volatiles and reached a spot where they could come close but they couldn't harm me from, and I started enjoying to watch their stubbornness while they were helpless, kinda.

It was getting bored at some point, so I decided to change my spot, which was a huge mistake because the volatiles could grab me from a side, and yeah, I was done for, losing some experience points.

At the restart, a chase started real fast, even when I didn't want it to, so I had to run for life again, vaulting over obstacles and sprinting through the dark alleys to break line of sight.

And I tried to survive, knowing morning is closer as I looked at the watch moment back, but I couldn't survive because they caught me again and I was dead, losing some more experience points.

At last, the sun decided to rise up over the horizon, and with that welcome daylight, the dangerous volatiles were gone from the streets entirely.

The aggressive night creatures retreated back into their dark hiding spots, and the whole surrounding looked incredibly peaceful and quiet compared to the absolute chaos of the nighttime.

While exploring the cleared area, I noticed the fresh bloody handprints of the beast smeared clearly from the entrance door of the church.

I followed this gruesome trail down the side steps and found a heavily broken tunnel door that looked like it had been violently forced open by something with massive strength.

After finding the next door locked, I had to crouch low and crawl through a narrow vent hole. This path finally allowed me to reach the inside of the church structure though I was in the basement.

There I noticed a handful of infected were scattered around the room, appearing to be standing completely still in a deep hibernation mode.

I ran through them real fast, so they don't get the chance to catch me, and after going through a tight hole where the infected couldn't follow me, I found a ladder to get out of this scary basement.
