Black Metal" singer and guitarist Peter "Rune" Smith has been vocal on this issue with his controversial use of the word "fascist," in his recent interview with "Cultural Matters." In August, Smith has taken note of "Neo-Nazis." After Smith's controversial use of the term, he then decided to clarify he does not consider himself a neo-Nazi and the term could be used in a less inflammatory light.

Smith said he took issue with the word when it was used in the context of Nazi statements about other groups he disagrees with. He added, "If I'm in any doubt about the meaning of any word, and a Nazi is saying 'Jews are the problem,' I can say that that has not been part of the discourse for decades and that is going to make for a very tense scene in this community."

Smith is right. But, how was the usage of the term in reference to the Nazi movement? After all, the original usage of the term for Naziism was "the movement." While it was a long time ago, the term was still popularised by prominent Nazi propaganda writers, some of whom were associated with the Nazis.
