The Things we are looking for, are already inside us
Hi guys,
I'm Vu, I'm living and working in Hoi An. The ancient city has spent many years, carrying the rustic antiquity of time. From the roof tiles, the tiles, the window frame all go through many ups and downs and last until nowadays.
Born and raised in an ancient land that trained me as a rustic, spontaneous person. Being a person who likes to explore and engage with nature, I find myself lucky to be born on the land next to the Thu Bon River. After graduating from university, I had the good fortune to work with the French photographer – Réhahn. With his enthusiasm and passion for the culture and nature of the Vietnamese people, for more than 10 years he lived and worked here, which is a great inspiration for young people like us.
I myself learned a lot during my work. I have traveled many places, discovered the wonders that nature has given to people, met friends from all over the world. We exchanged and shared with each other the traditional cultural beauty of the people. I've found someone who inspires me with positive energy and experience, especially in photography.
For 3 years working at Réhahn's Museum, he used to take us up to Dong Giang, Tay Giang... the majestic mountain forests, we stayed here watching the sun go down, we were perfected in the cold weather every night. Or we take the bus from early morning to the Central Highlands, witness the daily working life of the people here, stay at the local people's house and hear about their culture of them...
Such precious experiences are rare and necessary breaks, between the busy life as today. From the day I went to work, I loved my job even more, when I went out I could forget everything, but what I was always willing to do next to it was my camera.
I was in the habit of sitting on the sidewalk, sipping coffee, and watching the flow of people rushing back and forth.
I took pictures of everything I liked, there were moments, things that happened so quickly, I thought if I didn't save it for later, I'd find out if I could find it.
Hoi An Ancient Town, where I was born and grew up extremely beautiful, now I am young I can remember everything from every corner of the alley, every restaurant, every little corner but later when I get older, will I be lucid enough to remember the beautiful memory of my youth. So I captured everything, captured every moment I encountered, captured the familiar scene of this old town so that when I want to look back, I just turned it over and everything was in sight.
And whatever comes will come. From the day of the outbreak, things seem to be stagnating and stagnating, and my work has a lot of impacts, I've made a decision that I've been thinking about a lot, and that's to quit my job.
I want to take advantage of this time, let myself explore, I want to travel more and experience more. When I decided to quit my job, I had a bit of a regret, because it was this job that brought me back to where I was supposed to be, and it was my boss who inspired me and taught me a lot of things, but I got rid of this safety zone, live my life with a passion for once. He supported my decision and introduced me to some interesting places for me to explore.
My journey was to wander through the nooks and crannies of the familiar city, and beyond. Sometimes I go alone, sometimes I go with my friends, who also share a passion for nature. In my spare time, I burst into familiar cafes, find myself a quiet corner, to see the hustle and bustle of the street, or simply to listen to Trinh's soundtrack.
At that moment, my heart also becomes lighter and deeper. My journeys continue, my passion for photography and discovery will be my companions along the way. At the same time, I also want to share beautiful views of the life, food, and beautiful scenery of my country Vietnam with my friends around the world.
