Online Safety Talk .:. Hive Humpday Hangout Ep.48 (Wednesday, September 24th, 5 PM UTC)

If you have checked some of my recent posts, you probably know that I had some big issues regarding my (ex) hosting business... My server was hacked multiple times, it was under a DDoS attack many times, and all in all, it was a huge mess... Could I avoid all that? Probably I could, at least partially... Patching old scripts, keeping passwords safe, upgrading the system, etc. All this hassle gave me an idea for the next #HHHLive show, so we will talk about safety online... Not just the things that happened to me, but mostly about things that we can prevent, especially in crypto, where we are dealing with private keys, and money in general... It's crucial to keep our wallets safe!

As I was dealing with all kinds of hacks, malware, viruses, etc. in my life, I will share some of my experiences in the past... Of course, I made mistakes in the past and I paid the price many times, and those lessons are the most valuable of all! Also, learning from our mistakes is useful, but it's not a guarantee that it will not happen again... The scammers and hackers are developing new tools, new ideas, new approaches, combined with AI, the future could look ugly on that side... That's why it's important to exchange experiences and to help each other to stay safe!

So, what would be the #HHHLive show about?
I would like to keep this show open for discussion! Don't want to have a monologue in the show, but rather a conversation among participants about the best practices to keep yourself safe online... From the tiniest things, like picking the right hardware to work on, operating system, crypto hot wallets, cold wallets, where to keep your keys, etc.

• Have you ever been hacked? How did that happen? Tell us more about it...
• In your opinion, where is your weakest point? How could you fall into the phishing trap? Being aware of our weaknesses could help us a lot!
• How do you keep your crypto wallets safe?
• Do you own any hardware wallets? And if you do, which one and why?
• Have you ever lost your wallet (real one or crypto)? How did you recover?

I hope you will help me out to keep the show dynamic by participating in this very important discussion... The future is online, and more and more of our personal data is available online... Some private, some public, and we need discussions about these things more than ever!

How was the last show? Because of my personal issues, we had the last #HHHLive show almost a month ago! It was a special edition show where we were talking mostly about different Hive-Engine tokens, but also about some ideas of participants in the show... There was no official recording of the show, but you can check out the written recap in this post.
