Far Away From Home .:. Benissa Walk

Do you remember my last #WednesdayWalk post where I finished my walk at the last point of the Calp, at the Bassetes port? Well we will continue the walk today, but now, we are in another municipality, leaving Calp and entering Benissa... What is interesting is that the town center of Benissa is over 10km far from this point, and it's not even on the coastline, but inland...

I suppose that all houses that are closer to the beach are built in the last 60-70 years, but we will not see any house on this walk... 😃 exactly how I like the most... No urban buildings, no traffic noise, just the sea, birds chirping, and the sun... It was around 9:30 AM when I was there, but the sun was on 100%... Sweating mode activated! 😂

As this trail is part of another town, you can notice differences almost immediately... There were many benches where you can take a rest, enjoy the view, read a book, or play Rising Star... 😃

Another interesting thing was these banners where you can learn about this part of the Mediterranean Sea... As I began my walk from the end of the route, numbers were going down... As you can see, the last "stop" (parada) was number 6 (as a matter of fact, it was 7, but I didn't take a photo of that one 😃)...

How handy that there was a map and you can exactly know where you are... That was also something that I didn't see in the Calp's part of the coastline trail...

On this part of the route, there were no beaches and the sea was almost inaccessible from the land...

More banners about the protected terrains around Benissa, but also more about the plants in the surroundings... I was wondering how these plants can survive in those harsh conditions... Sun in the summer is burning everything, there is no soil at all, only rocks and stones... How they can grow at all?

It looks like this tree has no problems growing in the middle of the trail... Nice to see that humans didn't pull it out!

When I was at this spot, I had a phone call from my sister, so I went down to the water... When you are looking at the photo, you probably think how great is that "beach" and accessible... But, it's NOT! What you can't see is that this isn't sand, but rather very "rocky ground", and it has very sharp edges... Don't know the real reason for that, but it looks like the salt from the sea did that... Luckily, I was there in sneakers, as if not, I would probably cut myself multiple times!

Another banner about the people who were/are living in this town and how the environment was shaping their lives...

And for the end, just a fantastic view from the shade... 😃 At this moment, the sun was in its full zenith and I was searching for every piece of shade that I could find... After this point, I turned back and did the route back to my car... This time, no coffee at the bar... Straight home to take a cold shower... 😃

I hope that you found these "coastline walks" interesting, as I'm having a lot of fun exploring new places! Will try to continue my journey and maybe one day, cover the whole coast of Valencia, or at least Alicante province! I suppose that nobody did that and it would be awesome to have something exclusive like that on HIVE!
