Wind Sleds.
The wind sleds are used here in Northern Wisconsin for transportation between Bayfield and Madeline Island. They are used when the ice on Lake Superior isn't safe enough for vehicle traffic during the winter months. The sleds will bring school children back and forth from Madeline Island to school in Bayfield. The sleds will also take Madeline Island residents back and forth as well as small amounts of cargo.
