It's the last working day of the week and the month of July as well. Can we just stop time for a moment and celebrate whatever we've been blessed with this week? Celebrating could never be on point without the rest of the #MarketFriday community founded by none other than dswigle@dswigle.

First off, I apologize for not being able to consistently join the #MarketFriday movement. I know some of you have always been on the lookout for my next post in the community. Recently, I went on a trip outside of my province where at night only solar-powered lamps brighten our cottages (which I think was one of the best parts of the trip, with no connection with the rest of the world). But not gonna talk about that now. In fact, we'll travel back to Guangzhou! Yup, we're not done with stories about my Guangzhou trip!

I'm happy celeste413@celeste413 shared her trip to Canton Tower a few weeks back. It reminded me of the time I went there with my workmates and our partners from China. If you could recall from my last post, our partners in China threw one of the happiest birthday bashes I've been to. Today, I'll share another destination we visited after our last working day at Canton Fair, the Canton Tower.

We had a sumptuous dinner at Music Bar 2030 a few meters away from Canton Tower. They ordered drinks for me which were really refreshing to the body given we've been walking for at least 8 hours for the last 3 days. After which we headed to Canton Tower.

With all honesty, I haven't heard about Canton Tower prior to my work trip to Guangzhou. It's not as famous as Petronas Tower in Malaysia or Eiffel Tower in Paris. But the moment I laid eyes on the 604-meter-tall tower, I was oozing with amazement. Our partners offered to pay for the entrance fees to the observatory deck but this time we refused. They paid for the dinner that night and to let them pay for the fees was already too much. So we paid for it out of our own pocket! Well, the good thing is that we have per diem that doesn't need liquidation. That's the thing about work-related trips everything's for free!

There were a lot of people, both locals and foreigners, who lined up to get their tickets to Canton Tower. I couldn't remember how much we paid but I do know there's a price difference depending on what level of the Tower you want to explore. In our case, we only got the cheaper option. We just wanted to explore a part of it and check what's up there to be seen. From lining up to get the tickets to the elevator ride to the floor where we're supposed to explore, things were pretty smooth and organized. It was dark and cold when we reached the Sightseeing Observation Deck of the Tower. It was dark while only a few line lights on edgy surfaces. From this deck, you can see a bird's eye view of Guangzhou. The districts we could see from above scream industrialization at its finest, with tall glass skyscrapers, and busy streets.

We enjoy our time there and thought it was such a huge blessing to be given a chance to explore places for free. That's all for this Friday, see you on the next one! 😁

Happy weekend everyone! 🥰
