She's back!
Hello everyone! It's very unusual that I'd skip posting anything here in Liketu or in Hive, in general, for almost a week now. I always find time to create content but a lot has been going on at work. It has been demanding lately and I couldn't be as active as before. I've been occupied with organizing our long overdue graduation, too! But yeah, I'm proud to say I've nailed my biggest event by far. You might be wondering why I'm organizing it when in fact I'm one of the graduates, too. I'll tell you some other time! For now, sharing my catch-up date with Shara.
It's been three years since Shara, one of my closest workmates, or should I say ex-workmate, and I saw each other. She resigned from our company and decided to take her chances abroad. It's commendable for people to go out of their comfort zones. I always think I couldn't do that myself. She's been in Cebu for a month now but I've been traveling here and there and was dealing with my graduation and other organizations on top of my day job. We scheduled the meet up last week;you know me I always schedule everything ahead of time. That's it, we met at Starbucks. Sat there for hours catching up, giving details of what happened to us in the last three years we were apart. It's funny how I teared up recalling some unfortunate events that I only got to tell her for the first time. Our kind of friendship is weird in a way that I rarely talked with her in the last three years; I could count using my two hands the times we've videocalled each other and reached out via Messenger, but talking to her doesn't feel that way. It's as if we just talked yesterday. All we had to do last night was pick up where we left off. I told her the highlights of the years she was away; I don't even have to sugarcoat anything. All cards on the table, no judgements, no shame. And that's how you'll know you got great friends. Without social media for 6 months and counting, I'm planning to do more of these catch up sessions.
We totally enjoyed the night, in fact even carried away that we were the last customers to leave Starbucks at past 12 AM. Lol! We're looking forward to more of these late night talks soon!
