First of many

Today's Day 2 of Toastmasters International District 75 Convention (DISCON) held in Mactan, Cebu. It's the first DISCON I've attended and it's also the first face to face DISCON in our District since the pandemic broke out.

Our learning sessions ended at 3 in the afternoon. We won't reconvene until 7 tonight, so we had around free 4 hours to do whatever we want. Together with my club, we toured the resort where our event is held. I must say it was a perfect day to just have fun with people I've been seeing on the Zoom screen for almost 2 years. As they say, it felt so great to finally see the body of the faces in Zoom meetings! Haha

We went into the beach, our final destination for the day. One of our club's members bought a mermaid's tail just to showcase during this afternoon's photoshoot. They're just playful, it was so good to look at. I've enjoyed my time since yesterday and I feel so happy and alive. It's great to meet people after convincing ourselves that meeting online's good enough. Nothing beats meeting people face to face, hugging, shaking hands, laughing together and taking real photos haha One for the books, indeed!
