Weekend-Engagement topics: WEEK 310 // The Weight of Dreams

I used to think that I was a failure because I didn't achieve my dreams, what I wanted, what I aspired to. I felt unachieved and I compared myself to my colleagues. In fact, there was a day that I was crying that I didn't achieve my dreams.
Today, I noticed that my dreams do scare me but one can still achieve his or her dreams even when all all options are odd. At the age of sixteen was the time that I had this dream, this passion to be a medical doctor. I read really hard but I didn't quit.
There was a gas filling station that gave me free electricity and in fact, I volunteered to be a watchman and man the phone charging point.

I studied to the extent that people called me a names.
Today, Nigeria made education look like a scam because I scored really high in JAMB and I wasn't given an admission to my dream course. This was because I didn't get to the non-indigene cut-off mark of that state. But guess what… I did finish another course in that same university after four years.
Right now, this question addresses what I fear the most…. Regret. I fear that I will regret not pursuing my dreams because I think that I am either old or weak. I might feel that I didn't try enough or I quitted too early.

Now this question haunts my deepest thoughts right now… What are you doing to mitigate the chance of regret occurring?
Questions like "Am I a failure?" pop in my brain…
But answers like "You are a failure until you achieve your dreams…" "You are a failure because you are not setting goals." "You are a failure for not reading like you should…"
Right now, I am planning to apply for the next exam and I pray that I will achieve. Yes, I also want to rewrite my O-level examination, just to remove all things that would make me feel down or low.
I believe that I will achieve some day.

Thanks for visiting.
