Stillness, a freewrite poem

going-to-work-977664_640.jpg

walk on both sides to balance your soul
walk on both sides to know when to go
and when to stay
still
as an unblown leaf

you may waver as
a stalk of lavender flower in the rain
or flutter like
a bird attending the young

be watchful like a dog awaiting command
only don't follow commands
don't follow the crowd
don't allow time and words guide your steps
let nature do that
let nature inform you
what is good and just
and what is against her principles

against your principles
same as hers really
if you think about it

think about it but not too much or for too long!

think about this moment
be still
be you

This is my entry to mariannewest@mariannewest's daily freewrite challenge. Today's prompt is walk on both sides.

I set the timer for 5 minutes, wrote until there were 1 minute and 48 seconds left (I love e.ggtimer people! You can see how much time you have left on the tab), then went back to proofread and format. It was all done when the timer went off. Just so you know.
