GitLab Gains After Microsoft Buys GitHub

Now that Microsoft acquired GitHub for $7.5 billion in stock, GitLab is gaining traction from coders afraid of the future of Microsoft's over reach. Although, Nat Friedman the new CEO promises that nothing will change, some coders have showed little fate in his promises. Chris Wanstrath, co-founder of GitHub, will join Microsoft as a technical fellow.
After news of the acquisition was made official, GitLab saw a sharp rise in the amount of repositories.
