Why Was Jesus Christ Baptized Despite Being Sinless?(Part 1)//The Old Path.
One question that many people ask is : "If Jesus Christ was without sin, why did he need to be baptized?". According to the bible, the baptism of Jesus was not because he needed cleansing from sin, but because he came to fulfill God's righteousness and set an example for mankind. In Matthew 3:13-15 when Jesus came to John the Baptist to be baptized, John hesitated knowing that Jesus was greater than him, but Jesus said to him "suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfill all righteousness". This statement shows that Christ's baptism was an act of obedience to God's will.
Jesus never committed sin. He was holy, blameless, and separate from sinners. His baptism was not for forgiveness of sins as it is for ordinary people; it shows complete submission to God and obedience to divine plan.
His baptism teaches christians the importance of humility, obedience, and faithfulness to God's commandments. Through this act, Christ showed that righteousness is demonstrated not only by what we believe but also by how faithfully we obey God.
