Inside McMenamins Edgefield Lodge - Artwork and Other Things

A lot of these shots are of the artwork in and around our room. There is so much to see here it is hard to capture it all. The kid on the right kind of creeps me out. The black rabbit he is holding might not be a stuffed toy. :) The Black Rabbit is also the name of one of the retaurants/bars on the lodge property.

I like the way they incorporated the existing handle and lock on the door as part of the painting.

All puppets on a string. The family being sent off to the poor house. Very appropriate since this building use to be The Multnomah County Poor Farm back in the day.

I think each of the rooms is named after a past resident of the poor farm. Each room I have been in always has a little story like this about the person that use to occupied the room.

Wine barrels in the wine cellar.

Some live entertainment in the narrow hallway in the wine cellar. On the right wine is made and barreled on the left is beer.

And finally the "pièce de résistance", a urinal made for a king. Or perhaps to make a king feel small. :)
