Siempre hemos tenido la necesidad de retratar a las personas en su oficio como fotógrafos aficionados, y para ello es imprescindible usar el recurso fotográfico de la perspectiva, de esta manera podemos expresar en nuestras imágenes la historia que queramos retratar. Según la página de Adobe la perspectiva fotográfica se refiere a "la relación espacial entre los temas del encuadre. También sugiere que la forma en que se compuso la imagen ayuda al espectador a ver el mundo desde una nueva perspectiva: la tuya." según esta explicación nosotros tenemos la capacidad de transmitir lo que nuestros ojos observan a través del lente de la cámara, es por eso que las cámaras en principio fueron diseñadas en relación al ojo humano para plasmar nuestras miradas en un material que pueda ser expuesto a otros ojos que lo aprecien.

La perspectiva en la fotografía es únicamente nuestra porque somos quienes están constantemente mirando las situaciones cotidianas, y cuando queremos manifestar nuestras miradas en las fotos le añadimos nuestra subjetividad. Todas las fotografías son subjetivas, por eso todas las fotos que tomamos se convierten en fotocopias de lo que nuestros ojos observaron en ese momento; pero cuando hablamos de perspectiva fotográfica significa que damos a entender a los espectadores una situación con claridad. Por ejemplo, si queremos hacer notar el oficio de un zapatero es necesario retratarlo de manera que se entienda que es un zapatero, por lo tanto no podemos retratarlo bailando o cantando, sino realizando una reparación a algún zapato, o retratarlo dentro del espacio de su trabajo, también podríamos retratarlo con muchos zapatos alrededor; el espacio y la acción juegan un papel muy importante.

En mi retrato me encargué de documentar el oficio de un camarógrafo de televisión, por lo que dispuse de tomar la fotografía al momento de él estar ejerciendo su profesión dentro de su espacio de trabajo; de nada me hubiera servido retratarlo fumando a las afueras del estudio o comprando pan en la avenida porque los espectadores no supieran que fuera un camarógrafo, sino por el contrario pensarían que es un fumador o un cliente de un negocio y esa no es la propuesta de mi retrato. Hay miles de formas en las que podemos aplicar la perspectiva en nuestras fotos, yo diría que son casi infinitas porque al haber tantas personas con tan diversos puntos de vista que podemos apreciar es maravillosa la forma en que otros fotógrafos pueden imprimir su perspectiva fotográfica de un camarógrafo de televisión.

Otro aspecto a tomar en cuenta serían la utilización de los planos y los ángulos para expresar nuestra perspectiva, eso le da un toque magistral y en ciertos casos nos da un estilo fotográfico único que dejaré explicado de mejor forma en otras publicaciones; por el momento yo solamente utilicé un plano medio que incluyera tanto al camarógrafo como a su asistente, lo que conocemos como un Two Shot que es un plano que engloba a dos personas dentro del mismo. No angulé mi cámara, por lo que el resultado fue un retrato plano o recto, lo que significa que la cámara se mantiene recta y el retrato no tiene un encuadre fuera de lo común; para mí en lo particular este tipo de ángulos es muy díficil de lograr debido a que se tiene que mantener la cámara en cero grados de inclinación y las líneas de nuestro retrato deben ser totalmente rectas para que no se perturbe la armonía fotográfica. Obviamente no es una fotografía perfecta, ninguna lo es de hecho, pero lo importante es que con la práctica día a día tomando en cuenta estos detalles nuestras imágenes vayan ganando un estilo propio y se vayan viendo lo más elegantes posibles.

We have always had the need to portray people in their craft as amateur photographers, and for this it is essential to use the photographic resource of perspective, so we can express in our images the story we want to portray. According to the Adobe page, the photographic perspective refers to "the spatial relationship between subjects in the frame. It also suggests that the way you compose your image helps your viewer see the world from a new perspective — yours." According to this explanation we have the ability to transmit what our eyes observe through the lens of the camera, that is why cameras were originally designed in relation to the human eye to capture our gaze in a material that can be exposed to other eyes that appreciate it.

The perspective in photography is uniquely ours because we are the ones who are constantly looking at everyday situations, and when we want to manifest our looks in the photos we add our subjectivity. All photographs are subjective, that's why all the photos we take become photocopies of what our eyes observed at that moment; but when we talk about photographic perspective it means that we give the viewers a clear understanding of a situation. For example, if we want to show the job of a shoemaker it is necessary to portray him in a way that it is understood that he is a shoemaker, therefore we cannot portray him dancing or singing, but making a repair to some shoe, or portraying him inside the space of his work, we could also portray him with many shoes around; the space and the action play a very important role.

In my portrait I was in charge of documenting the profession of a television cameraman, so I decided to take the photograph at the moment he was exercising his profession within his work space; it would have been useless to portray him smoking outside the studio or buying bread on the avenue because the viewers would not know he was a cameraman, but on the contrary they would think he was a smoker or a customer of a business and that is not the proposal of my portrait. There are thousands of ways in which we can apply perspective in our photos, I would say they are almost infinite because there are so many people with so many different points of view that we can appreciate it is wonderful how other photographers can print their photographic perspective of a television cameraman.

Another aspect to take into account would be the use of shots and angles to express our perspective, that gives a masterful touch and in certain cases gives us a unique photographic style that I will explain in a better way in other publications; for the moment I only used a medium shot that included both the cameraman and his assistant, what we know as a Two Shot which is a shot that includes two people in the same shot. I did not angle my camera, so the result was a flat or straight portrait, which means that the camera is kept straight and the portrait does not have a frame out of the ordinary; for me in particular this type of angles is very difficult to achieve because you have to keep the camera at zero degrees of inclination and the lines of our portrait must be completely straight so that the photographic harmony is not disturbed. Obviously it is not a perfect photograph, none is in fact, but the important thing is that with daily practice, taking into account these details, our images will gain a style of their own and will look as elegant as possible.
