What is Medina?
Madinah (Arabic: المدينة, officially: المدينة المنورة al-Madina al-Munawara) or Madinah is also spoken here. Western city of Hejaz in Saudi Arabia and the capital of Al Madinah province.
This is the second holy city of Islam, where the last Prophet of Muhammad (peace be upon him) This is historically important because the Prophet Muhammad (pbuh) lived in Medina after the Hijrah. Medina is very important for many historical reasons. Especially the Muslims are very respectable and holy to the Muslims. Three mosques of Islam, such as mosque, Nabawi, Kuba mosque (which is the first mosque in the history of Islam) and mosque al-Qibalatain (the mosque which converted the qibla in the mosque) is located. Hazrat Muhammad (peace be upon him) emigrated to Abu Bakr with his Companion in 622 AD for the Medina of Holy Makkah. During the Umar Khilafat, he founded the Islamic calendar based on his memories, which became known in the Hijri Salman. The Holy Qur'an which was revealed after the emigration of Prophet (S :) in Madina, is called Madani Surah
