What the D.A.R.E Program Will Not Tell You

The D.A.R.E. program stands for drug abuse resistance education.

In about 1988 a police officer (Weissman was his name) came to our 5th grade classroom to talk to us about the dangers of drugs for a few weeks and also to get beat at four square during recess.

We went over the different categories of drugs and also the unique dangers of these illegal drugs.

Mormons were not discussed at all. It was a mistake. Here is why:

I was raised to win, as are many kids.

Mormons are raising their kids to be kind and to include other kids in their activities, instead of destroying adults and other kids in playground games and sports.

These Mormon kids grow up not drinking, not doing drugs and not acting selfish. Those three things all go together.

These kids will end up with the best jobs because they are more pleasant to be around, more dependable, more stable, and less selfish. They are also more studious.

They deserve to make more money; they certainly will.

And if something does go wrong with their job, they are far less likely to use or abuse drugs.
