My Adorable chickens

Here are two of my five chickens, their names are Rusty and Pompom. they are both Silkie Chickens, and in my opinion they are such a beautiful breed. What's more is that they lay eggs too, often each chicken lays 5 eggs a week, but their eggs are small, so be careful with those cake recipes, you might need two eggs where it says one.

Pompom and Rusty came to live with us at about 16 weeks old in August last year, and we have loved them ever since. They started laying eggs around Christmas. Their favourite thing to eat of course is grain, but they don't mind chomping on the grass and digging for insects too.

There favourite past time is having dust baths, and pecking... after all they are chickens. they live with 3 other chickens much bigger varieties, but they all get along really well.
