The Secret Life of Setts: Badgers and Foxes Coexist
After discovering that a young badger has taken over the abandoned sett of an old badger, who had passed away due to an injury, I set up a trail camera to monitor the side entrance on a nearby slope that showed signs of being used. To my surprise, the footage captured by the camera revealed that the sett was being shared by a pair of foxes.
While badgers are known for their cleanliness and foxes are notorious for being messy, it's amazing to see how these two species coexist in the same space while using their own entrances. By sharing the sett, the animals are able to avoid conflict and peacefully coexist in their natural habitat.
