Exploring Cuba's Coastal Wonders: An Encounter with Aura Tiñosa and the Fascinating World of Local Fishermen.
Good afternoon, Hivers, greetings to all nature lovers and its wonders.
Recently, I went for a walk along the coast of Alamar in Havana, Cuba. The sky was very clear and beautiful, and the sea was crystal clear and very calm, but one of the things I enjoyed the most was that I was able to take a close-up picture of the Aura Tiñosa (Cathartes aura), which is the common name we give this bird in Cuba. This bird is really a bit unpleasant to look at, but it is very important for the balance of the ecosystem where it inhabits. I think they were stalking a group of fishermen who had just cleaned some fish and left the waste near the shore.
After taking this picture, I continued to an unused pier to chat for a while with the fishermen on duty, as this is one of my passions and I haven't been able to do it for various reasons.
While talking at the site, I was able to take some pictures of the artisanal boats that our fishermen make to access deeper waters and make better catches.
I also heard a grandfather telling me that his grandson had run out of the water because he had just seen a shark. The grandfather, who was an experienced fisherman, smiled at this, but I can imagine the boy's face when he saw a shark for the first time, especially because the boat he was using required the person handling it to keep their feet in the water with fins.
Well, friends, I think I'd better leave you with some of the pictures I was able to capture so you can enjoy some of our nature from here.
All images were taken with my Redmi9A mobile phone and are my property
