When War Looms

My grandma told me a long story about her experience with World War many decades ago, and I couldn't stop imagining the terrible reality humans faced those days all because of war.

Ever since my existence in this world, I have only read about war in history books, listened to the stories, and watched the movies/the documentaries. Everything about war, I have only watched from a distance and never experienced, and I won't by God's grace.

Even though I have never experienced war firsthand, listening to news about the ongoing war in our world today has been terrible. Innocent lives are being destroyed with the nuclear weapons within the twinkling of an eye. It's even more deadly now with the whole technological advancement in this part. Those days we didn't have sophisticated weapons like we do today, and yet, many lives were lost; mothers lost their children, and husbands or wives lost their spouses too. For some persons, it was hunger that killed them, while some were doing trade by barter just to survive and many more terrible experiences our forefathers experienced those days.

If the war then wasn't something to write home about, how then will today's war look like?, today era of modern technology and weapons. We aren't praying for war to happen anymore, but it does as we see in some parts of the world. But then if we see it happen or see it coming , the big question is, what would I do?

Honestly, I wouldn't think of becoming a patriotic citizen by joining the army to fight the war, never! My strength doesn't lie in that aspect in any way. War changes a lot of things, from the environment being unsafe to chaos to scarcity of immediate human needs and more. So as a mom, what I would do is first gather as many foodstuffs and toiletries as possible, at least the quantity that can serves my family for some time, and then look for who can dig and build an underground house for me before the war reaches my side,lol.

This idea sounds funny, but what can I do? Where should I run to so that the nuclear weapons wouldn't wipe out all living things on earth including my family and I ? Honestly, it's almost looking impossible to survive any world war in today's world due to how advanced technology has gone.

The weapons these people can access can wipe out lives within minutes. It's even fearful to think of, and so the only thing I know is to start praying that peace be restored in our world. At the mention of World War, the only man that can save us or calm the storm is God because at this point, the same technology we are enjoying today will be used to work against us.
