Mi hámster malhumorado/ My grumpy hamster

Hola compañeros de la comunidad de @hivepets es la primera vez que escribo aquí. Hoy quiero hablarles sobre mis mascotas.

Hello fellow @hivepets community, it's the first time I've written here. Today I want to tell you about my pets.

Para empezar la historia, hace un mes aproximadamente falleció mi hámster ruso llamada FIFI, ella había pasado por una operación y varias semanas complicadas por un tumor que tenía. La operación había salido muy bien pero luego de unos meses falleció de vieja, FIFI tenia un año y medio conmigo y en general los rusos viven de 2 a 3 años máximo. Yo creo que la operación ayudo a mejorar su calidad de vida, pero al mismo tiempo la intervención afecto su tiempo conmigo. Un día abrí su casita luego de no verla en todo el día y estaba dormidita adentro.
Realmente me sentí en paz porque se la veía muy tranquila y el tiempo que pude pasar con ella luego de la operación fue muy bueno, ella era muy cariñosa y amigable con todos.

To start the story, about a month ago my Russian hamster named FIFI passed away, she had undergone an operation and several weeks complicated by a tumor she had. The operation had gone very well but after a few months she died of old age, FIFI had a year and a half with me and in general Russians live 2 to 3 years maximum. I believe that the operation helped improve his quality of life, but at the same time the operation affected his time with me. One day I opened her little house after not seeing her all day and she was asleep inside. I really felt at peace because she looked very calm and the time I was able to spend with her after the operation was very good, she was very affectionate and friendly with everyone.

Pasaron unas 2 o 3 semanas y mi familia decidió adoptar otro hámster, un machito ruso de color blanco y gris. Lo ubicamos en un hábitat espacioso con un montón de comodidades para que tenga un estilo de vida optimo, porque para tener un animal es necesario tenerlo bien.
Con mi familia le dimos el nombre de TOTI. Todavía se esta acostumbrando a su nuevo espacio, nuestras voces y los olores nuevos del lugar donde se encuentra. Todas las noches, en su horario mas activo, me acerco a su jaula para que reconozca mi voz y de a poco intento interactuar con el para que dentro de unos días o semanas pueda hacer paseos controlados fuera de su jaula. La etapa de adaptación y adiestramiento de un hámster puede tardar, cada hámster tiene su personalidad, hay algunos que son mas amigables desde un principio, pero hay otros que son mas cautos y tímidos, así que puede tomar mucho tiempo hasta que tomen confianza.

About 2 or 3 weeks passed and my family decided to adopt another hamster, a white and gray Russian male. We place it in a spacious habitat with a lot of comforts so that it has an optimal lifestyle, because to have an animal it is necessary to have it well. With my family we gave it the name TOTI. He is still getting used to his new space, our voices and the new smells of where he is. Every night, in his most active hours, I go to his cage so that he recognizes my voice and little by little I try to interact with him so that within a few days or weeks he can take controlled walks outside his cage. The adaptation and training stage of a hamster can take time, each hamster has its personality, there are some who are more friendly from the beginning, but there are others who are more cautious and shy, so it can take a long time until they become confident.

Toti es un hámster curioso, el se asoma a ver e investigar cada sonido o persona nueva, pero eso no significa que tenga confianza, ya que en reiteradas ocasiones me mordió al intentar que suba a mi mano, así que de a poco intento que suba a mi mano incentivándolo con comida.
Luego de varias noches y mordidas logre que empiece a subir a mi mano y se quede, el problema es que cuando no recibe su premio, comienza a lamerme los dedos pidiendo comida y si continuo sin darle nada ahí empieza a morderme.

Toti is a curious hamster, he looks out to see and investigate each new sound or person, but that does not mean that he has confidence, since he repeatedly bit me when trying to get him to climb my hand, so little by little I try to climb to my hand encouraging it with food. After several nights and bites I managed to get him to climb onto my hand and stay, the problem is that when he doesn't receive his prize, he starts licking my fingers asking for food and if I continue without giving him anything there he starts to bite me.

Cuando esta escondido y me doy cuenta donde esta se enoja y empieza a chillar para que le de su espacio, por ahora sigue en la etapa de adaptación, pero no tengo duda que con constancia voy a lograr que sea más amigable.

When it is hidden and I realize where it gets angry and begins to scream for me to give it its space, for now it is still in the adaptation stage, but I have no doubt that I will constantly make it more friendly.
