Does end-of-consumption result in a measurable increase in happiness? According to a study by psychologist Galen V. Bodenhausen of Northwestern University, consumption is associated with heresy and antisocial behavior. Consumer activity has increased significantly since the 1950s, but happiness has continued to be on the spot.

When her visa was over, I followed her to Barcelona and lived in a small apartment, happy and loving, until she realized there was no reason for us to stay in Spain. We picked up some clothes, some make-up stuff, and a couple of laptops, and we were on our way. We lived in Bangkok, Buenos Aires, and Toronto, making many pauses in between.
